About me
Hi! My name is Sofia, and this is what you should know about me:
Cakes are probably in my DNA, exhibit A: my favourite book as a kid was my mom's pastries and cakes recipe book. The pictures of those baked goods and the explanation of how to make them was making me daydream more than any princess' fairy tale. Weird kid, uh?
Nevertheless that daydreaming brought me to leave my hometown in Italy and move to Germany where I graduated at the National Baking Academy. This allowed me to work as pastry chef in different countries (because I also have a thing for traveling...) and that`s how I landed here in Bergen, Norway.
Now, I love to eat cakes as much as I love to bake them, but as a vegan I've often found that first part to be quite difficult. When I went fully vegan, more than 10 years ago, the veg menus were quite... sad and not very inviting... especially the dessert page was... well, let's just say it was a struggle.
But it doesn't have to be like that, vegan doesn't mean lack of taste, weird flavour or "special" texture, trust me!
